My Morning Jacket American rock band from Louisville, Kentucky. Jim James singer-songwriter, guitarist - also known as Yim Yames is The most talented Musician I've heard. Yup time to lock me up and put me in the funny farm! The band is top notch, They slam so hard core, a perfect 10 out of 10! The singer is beyond words to describe what I hear regarding his talent. It's so off the charts I'm stunned! Truly Amazed by his musical talent. If Music talent was measured in Manhood Yim Yames would be Ron Jeremy he's that big! I have him as the next John Lennon which qualifies me for the Koo Koo award for 2012 but if you just do yourself a treat and hear 50 songs from this band/singer songwriter you will be left wondering how one person got a generations talent!
So behind Yim James crazy Hair making him look more like Animal from the Muppet show is the next John Lennon?
So Yim James can solo, His voice and singing style is his own i.e Not a follower like so many! His songwriting is out of this world making Multiple Masterpieces of every song I've heard so far! Yim James is cool, absorbed into the music and from all the videos I've seen the perfect front man to capture the audiences attention! Am I missing something here? Yeah well the group should be bigger than Nirvana but for whatever reason the forces that be have no idea what the best sounds like so It may be a while before they become The Beatles! I suppose the fans could give a shit if they are big or not in fact I suspect it's half the lure if the raw, fresh, sounds like them vibe they give off.
What makes me so wow is the band alone should be in the hall of fame! Add the singer and you have a super group beyond Measure! Tom 'Two-Tone Tommy' Blankenship (bassist), Patrick Hallahan (drummer), Carl Broemel (guitarist, pedal steel guitarist, saxophonist, vocalist), and Bo Koster (keyboardist, percussionist, vocalist). Regardless of those that came and gone regarding the band's line up the current roster is just flat out amazing! Psychedelic rock, roots rock, country rock, jam band, southern rock, indie rock and 20 other slang's to describe them what's for sure is everyone is guessing and they keep growing in popularity!
If anyone wanted to run a clinic on dynamics it would be my morning jacket. The band yeah I get it they are a family and yeah they all support each other and yeah they would be nothing with out each other whatever... The singer is the superstar... His guitar playing and unique approach to vocals pales in comparison to his ability to write songs! Yup folks he's a prodigy as a songwriter! I'm thinking he's one of the best we've seen in our era that's a big statement but his ability to stamp a song his while making you feel it sounds familiar yet to do so with more twists and turns than cedar point!
The song's are all unique and that's the major point of my review is how does the band and singer do that? There attention to details convinces me they live for their music and in it! They are incredibly talented and we will be listening to their music for decades which I can't say that about 99% of the bands I hear! Most bands are one and done, listen and forget, who cares mindless dribble if that's even a word music that sounds like the last song you heard 10 songs ago and that's not the case with this band! I'm not a big fan in fact I'm new but they are amazing really, really amazing 10 out 10 whatever the hell that means! If you get a change to see them I say yes, go, have fun!
