Above is just one example of a band from Livonia Michigan! We will be covering cities across the U.S in hopes to catch a glimpse of what the city offers! Livonia Once the safest city in the world per 100,000 residence was hit especially hard with the decline of the housing market. This conservative town has many bands and musicians tucked away in the working blue collar city. Most notable was Chuck Behler drum Prodigy that played in MegaDeth for some years, Warren Defever, and countless others that broke out of Livonia Michigan also called The Livonia Dome and 500 other stupid things that locals call it.
With bars like the smoken' token lounge, Studio Lounge(which was torn down and replaced by Taco Bell), and penalty box in Livonia Mi. Some fledgling bands cut their teeth on stage perfecting their craft basking in their ten minutes of fame! Bands Like Sponge (one of metro Detroit's Claim to fame) even played on Conan O'Brien in 1996 showing the nation we have the goods! There are 100's of artists, actors and famous people that we didn't mention. We hope to provide a snap shot of the town and a little about what's going on. If you think this city should get some more love or additional info added register and write your own story and publish it in our writers section.
To current date we thought Michigan was going to be the epa center of Music, Movies, video games, computer jobs! With a true employment rate of 20% or worse it's shocking to see that billions of dollars and the 100 associated industries that were sure to come were blown off by our so called leadership! Well by taking the movie incentives it sent a message to Hollywood and it's billionaires we aren't interested. I bring this up because Michigan has 50% of it's buildings vacant one would think that we would wish to fill them with new tax paying companies that brought the pulse of Michigan and Livonia Back to life but that wasn't the case.
What's funny is Michigan's midwest hard ball was quick rejected and the billions of dollars that would have been invested in our state is now somewhere else. Logic can clearly come up with the fact that 90% of everywhere is having a hard time and would welcome Movie credits to fill up vacant buildings and put it's people to work. Livonia Landed a movie studio which was really exciting to see but quickly everything came to a halt when we turned our back on the Entertainment industry. The hard working people of Michigan and Livonia Deserved real jobs that would have been created by the high paying jobs that would have followed once the Entertainment Industry became comfortable with our state.
I love Livonia, it's a conservative city one that really to the brunt of the economic tidal wave that hit the state of Michigan. To future is now unknown but the memories can't be taken away of a city that was once a world's best now facing the fight of their life to preserve it's greatness! The Livonia Spree is a good time if you looking for an event to really capture Livonia Michigan and it's greatness! If you grab a lawn chair by the library and city hall you can see an impressive display of fireworks which is really second to none coupled with the Spree and it's trappings especially for the younger crowd!
