Adam 'MCA' Yauch of the Beastie Boys dies at 47! From T.H.E.S We wish the family, friends and fans well in this difficult time! A self taught vocalist, MC, Bassist and director. There wasn't anything Adam couldn't do.
Leaving this earth at 47 is sudden! His accomplishments were staggering in the music business. From entrance into the Hall of fame, to racking up 1# hits. This legend will be missed.
Filmmaker and humanitarian and buddist Yauch converted to Buddism in the 1990s. Visiting Nepal and hearing the Dalai Lama speak in Arizona was a life changing event.
Born in the Brooklyn Heights, according to Current Biography magazine. An only child and oldest member of the Beasties. The band, which also featured Michael "Mike D" Diamond and Adam "Adrock" Horovitz, sold more than 40 million records world wide and kept their reputation solid over several decades.
I must personally thank the Beastie boys for writing some of the baddest tunes ever! The Beastie Boys were the best band in the world to blast at parties or hanging out on a hot summer night in your 20's with the new flavor of the week!
Known for standing out back then for being three white rappers from Brooklyn. The band even threw the fact into the pundits faces releasing the acclaimed song "No Sleep till Brooklyn" one of my all time favorite songs!
You will be missed and I hope your rockin in heaven! Thanks again for all the years you blessed us with your talent! You will be truly missed.
