The sound and the recording as well were well beyond their years. the guitar and bass tones. The drum sounds, the vocals, the style of their writing is still very relevant. The album operation mind crime is the most over looked and underrated album that was ever written by a rock band!
The band even hit the top charts reaching number 9 with the song "Silent Lucidity" featuring a Pink Floyd sound that caught on like wild fire but distanced many who held onto hope they would return to their roots.
I'm part of the fans that wished the old guitar player Chris DeGarmo was still in the band and that they wrote more albums like operation mindcrime. Yes I keep talking about that because it was so good and for some reason they just stopped writing in that direction.
It's frustrating to the hardcore fans why they changed their sound and abandoned what was world's best about thems. Now I just got wind that the band has allegedly replaced, let go of, fired, Geoff Tate wow and oh my god are you kidding me!
Once noted to be a Opera singer and world renowned as one of the best vocalist in the world. It makes me wonder what the happened to make something so drastic to occur.
Why the band keeps the name is beyond me! I'm a die hard fan and taking any member from the original line up kills the sound so why keep the name!
The band is the best at their respective instruments. Every member is a worlds best! The bass player Eddie Jackson is a monster on the bass! The song I believe in love is one of the best bass lines ever written in rock!
The melancholy sounds haunted listeners ears who hung on every note of each masterful song the original members wrote. Operation mind crime is the most underrated albums in the history of music. I Don't care about the backlash that I may get from saying that.
I'm going to pour me a large shot of hard liquor tonight and turn the album Operation Mindcrime by Queensryche up to ten! I hope I blow the windows out and get a police complaint. It will be my night to morn what will never be again! Thank you Queensryche for all the music you wrote!
The concept album about a serial killer based on a cryptic plot was something I always wished Hollywood would have picked up. I think it would have been a cool movie to see. Again I'm thinking like a fan but I can't help it!
I'm writing this article as a fan and I can't help my feelings when it comes to this band! Thank you again and may it all work out for all of you in the future. Good luck to the new singer, the band and Geoff tate. You all are rich beyond my wildest dreams so I don't feel bad for you. I do however wish you luck in all you do so good luck!
